The AAAC hosted two meetings of the mission led by Fr. James Reuter, S.J., Sister Eva Maamo, S.P.C., Mar and Nora Salazar at the Scarborough Civic Centre and the Sorento Restaurant on Don Mills. The meetings were intended to bring attention to the needs of the hospital for the poor now being completed in Manila, needs for hospital equipment, as well as for continuing operating funds for the hospital. The mission had gone on a hectic 11-city North American tour, including Toronto, and has just concluded this initial phase.
