Some Memorable Messages from the Recent Past

From Fr. Raul J. Bonoan, S.J.

Fr. Bonoan's Last message to the Ateneo Alumni (although referring in particular to those from ADNU)

TO ALL ATENEO DE NAGA ALUMNI IN THE US AND CANADA

FROM FR. ROLLY BONOAN, S.J.

Merry Christmas to one and all! You and your families will be remembered at my Christmas Masses and prayers.

We also ought to thank the Lord this Christmas season for a unique blessing on the Ateneo: last Nov 11, we received word that the Ateneo de Naga's application for University status has been approved.

Congratulations to all of you -- you are now alumni and alumnae of the Ateneo de Naga UNIVERSITY!!!

The formal inauguration of the Ateneo de Naga University will take place in February.  You and all other alumni/ae are invited.

DO COME IF YOU CAN:

But if you can't, I'm sure you will be with us in spirit.

Remember: we became a university because of your help all these years.

 Oragon ang Ateneo!!

JUST ANOTHER THING:

I intend to visit the alumni in the US and Canada in October 1999.

Hope to see you all.

MESSAGE of Fr. Bonoan--1997 Scholarship Affair

TO THE ATENEO ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CANADA

A million thanks to the Ateneo Alumni Association Canada for your scholarship program at the Ateneo de Naga!  And congratulations on your scholarship fundraising dinner!

My visit with you in October 1994 is still fresh in my memory. How can I forget your kindness and concern for the Ateneo de Naga? Thanks to your scholarship program two poor students enjoy the benefit of an Ateneo education.   You have heard that we have built a number of buildings here at the Ateneo.  PLEASE KNOW THAT, MORE IMPORTANT, THROUGH YOUR FUNDRAISING YOU ARE HELPING US BUILD PEOPLE.

I wish I could be with you on this occasion.  But I have been asked by Fr. Provincial to attend an international Jesuit meeting about the same time.  Nonetheless, even from this distance, I can feel your enthusiasm and desire to help us in our work and bring education to people who need it most, the poor.

Congratulations to your president, Joe Gonzales, the AAAC Board, all you alumni and alumnae, and all those who attend the dinner and contribute to this cause!  I hope to see you all some day.

You are always in my prayers.

Sincerely yours,

  Raul J. Bonoan, S.J.
